LEE SEUNG GI

Lee Seung-gi (Korean: 이승기; Hanja: 李昇基; born January 13, 1987) is one of South Korea's most prominent artists. He was born in Banghak-dong, Dobong District, South Korea.

Seung Gi was an excellent and accomplished student-leader before deciding to enter the world of K-entertainment. He trained at an early age of 15 for two years before making his debut in 2004. Even after his debut, he continued his studies diligently and graduated with a Special Achievement Award from Dongguk University with a degree in International Trade & Commerce in 2009. He then obtained 2 Masters Degrees from Dongguk Graduate School, finishing courses in Marketing & Trade Theory and Finance & Cultural contents in 2014. Believing in continuous learning, he also obtained a Certificate in Child Psychiatry Counseling in 2019 seeing as it was essential for his role in the variety show Little Forest.

At a very young age, Seung Gi was able to release hit songs such as Because You're My Woman, Delete, Will You Marry Me, Return, Love Taught Me to Drink, and so much more. As years went by, Seung Gi continued to release amazing music with his latest hits I Will, The Ordinary Man, and his most recent work in collaboration with Captain Planet -- Circle.

His music garnered him multiple awards such as Best Newcomer, Best New Male Artist, Best Male Singer, Best Ballad, Popularity Award and many more from various award giving bodies like Golden Disc Awards, Melon Music Awards, MNET Asian Music Awards, SBS Music Awards, and more.

Fast forward to the present, Seung Gi is now one of the highest paid celebrities in all of South Korea. He first entered Forbes Korea Power Celebrity list in 2010, ranking 7th and has constantly been included in the list except during his military enlistment years. His most recent ranking is 15th in the year 2023.

Apart from being a decorated singer, he is also a superb actor and entertainer who has gained numerous awards such as Top Excellence Award (SBS Drama Awards), Daesang Award, Artist of the Year (Asian Artist Awards), Popularity Award (Korean Film's Actors Guild Award), Best Couple Award (SBS Drama Awards), Male Multi-Entertainer of the Year (Brand of the Year Awards), Daesang Award (SBS & KBS Entertainment Awards), and Producer's Award, Entertainer of the Year Award, Best Teamwork Award (SBS Entertainment Awards) to name a few.

Being an established actor, in 2021, Seung Gi was selected as one of the 200 actors to be featured in the Korean Actors 200 Campaign, run by the Korean Film Council (KOFIC). This methodical project's aim is to select actors that best represent the present and future of Korean film and to introduce them to other people that work in the film industry overseas.
