Lee Seung Gi, Appointed as Korean Red Cross Climate Crisis Resilience Ambassador

September 4, 2023: Korean Red Cross announced that it has appointed Lee Seung-gi as the Korean Red Cross Climate Crisis Resilience Ambassador. 👏👏

Starting with the Youth Red Cross (RCY), Lee Seung-gi formed a deep relationship with the Red Cross. Since then, he has donated a total of 760 million won to the East Coast and Gangneung forest fire relief activities, and the production of mobile meal vehicles and blood donation buses.

He expressed his determination for his new role, saying,

“Through my experience with the Youth Red Cross, I realized the importance of environmental protection, and I will strive to strengthen the resilience of climate and environmental disasters in the Asia-Pacific region”

As ambassador, Lee Seung-gi will be a guest speaker at the International Seminar on Disaster Resilience on September 12.

Lee Seung-gi, born in Seoul in 1987, is loved by fans as he perfectly plays various roles as a singer, actor, and entertainer with his unique and differentiated style. He added to his academic depth by graduating from Dongguk University's Department of International Trade and Graduate School of Cultural Contents. He has been involved in Red Cross Youth (RCY) activities since high school, and has contributed to society by donating a total of 760 million won at one time in support of recovery activities for the 2022 East Coast forest fire and the 2023 Gangneung forest fire. Through this, he earned the beautiful nickname “Charity Angel,” and his sense of humanitarian mission continues through donations to other organizations.
